Synopsis: “Forget the days of having to choose between height and handling. The new Lift is the next generation of big air versatility.” The Airush Lift Version 3, is a performance freeride and big air machine with explosive power, smooth kite loops, and a remarkable level of lift and hangtime, all packed within a stable airframe for superior control, even in high wind conditions.
Likes: This kite’s hype was ignited by the performance of big air rider, Jason Van der Spuy, in the King Of The Air competition. Jason’s significant contribution to the design of the new Lift, in collaboration with Airush’s veteran kite designer, Mark Pattison, has resulted in a kite that truly pushes the boundaries of big air performance. When asked about his ultimate kite, Jason described it as one with direct steering, no pulleys on the bridles, and that offers massive hangtime. These, along with the excellent looping and climbing abilities, are the exact qualities embodied in the Lift, making it his ideal and dream kite.
This kites five strut design is one of the most ridged airframes we have ever tested. As the Lift targets boosting, hang time, and pushing performance freeride to new heights, it is designed for riders seeking exceptional hang time, explosive power, and stability in extreme conditions. The Lift is user-friendly, making it suitable for intermediate to professional riders. Progressing riders that regularly push their kite to the top end of their range will appreciate the stability and rigidity of the Lift. The new and improved bridle design enhances steering response, giving the rider heightened control and versatility. With a selection of sizes ranging from 7 to 14m, the Lift caters to a wide array of rider preferences and conditions. The 12 and 14 m are ideally suited to intermediate riders looking for a big air-jumping machine.
Drawbacks: With five struts, this kite is heavier than most 10 m kites. It’s designed to be used in more wind than any other 10 m we have been on in the past year. While Core’s big air kite XR8 is one of their best progression kites, progressing Airush riders would be better served by the Airush Lithium freeride kite.
Best For:Â The Airush Lift Version 3 is a state-of-the-art kite that takes big air to the next level. It merges the thrill of powerful lifts and smooth kite loops with the comfort of stability and enhanced control, making it a must-have for high-wind mega loopers.
