In this interview with Michael Phaneuf, the U.S. Sales Manager at Core, we take a closer look at Core’s latest products featuring Aluula technology. Michael explains how Aluula, a lightweight and ultra-stiff material, is driving innovation in the kiteboarding world, particularly with the Pace Pro and XR Pro kites.
The Pace Pro is Core’s newest high-performance kite designed for big air, kite loops, and freestyle. Aluula’s airframe makes the kite lighter and stiffer, resulting in faster turning speeds, quick response times, and an early catch after kite loops, making it perfect for both beginners and advanced riders pushing the limits in big air tricks.
The XR Pro, Core’s first kite with the Aluula airframe, still holds the world record for boost height. Building off the popularity of the XR series, the XR Pro offers even more precise performance with lighter and stiffer construction, perfect for free riding, boosting, and kite loops. Michael praises lead designer Frank for completely rebuilding the kite from the ground up to take advantage of Aluula’s properties, resulting in a fine-tuned, race suspension-like feel.
Michael also introduces the Sensor 4 Pro Bar, Core’s most feature-rich control bar yet. It maintains Core’s simple DNA while offering a variety of adjustments, including pigtail compatibility with any kite, adjustable high Y or low V settings, and a smooth auto-untwist swivel. The bar features adjustable lengths (52-47 cm), 4:1 depower cleat, a seat belt-style safety system for easy reattachment, and the ability to tune the bar under the floats.
These innovative products demonstrate Core’s dedication to high performance, user-friendly designs, and pushing the boundaries of kite technology with materials like Aluula.
