Maui, Hawaii – Naish continues to charge into the new decade with the addition of Polish ripper Helena Brochocka to our International Kiteboarding Team.
Born and raised far from the water in Warsaw, Poland, Helena recalls her life taking a whole new direction the summer of 2008 during her first kiteboarding lesson – instantly falling in love with the thrill of the sport. Brochocka proved to have a competitive edge from the start, placing 5th at the KTE European Championships just two years after learning how to kiteboard.
“The first kite I ever owned was a Naish kite and I learned all of my first tricks on it. Back then I had no idea it would be the start of the adventure of a lifetime. It is really cool to see history come full circle now and I am beyond stoked to join the legendary Naish Team! Thanks for having me on board and I can’t wait to see what the future brings!”
She qualified to fight for the World Title in the PKRA World Tour, facing some of the world’s best riders and walked away 10th in the world rankings in that year, followed by her 1st Place podium at the Tarifa Masters of Kiteboarding in Spain. Helena started 2019 off strong winning the wildcard slot at the Triple S Invitational’s final event. In October 2019, she went home with 3rd place for best trick at the GKA Freestyle World Cup in Dakhla, proving she has a promising road ahead.
Brochocka plans to continue her quest for the podium as she travels around the world competing in freestyle and park competitions – including this year’s GKA and KPL events. Between her busy lifestyle and competition schedule, she plans to continue shooting kitesurfing videos and sharing her stoke for the sport with the people she meets along the way.
It is a new decade and new direction for the Naish Kiteboarding Team – keep an eye out for more from Helena and Naish this year, we are stoked to have her on board!
