This morning, northern Denmark was the stage for kiteboarding’s highest jump ever recorded. South African athlete Joshua Emanuel soared to an incredible 36.2 meters in the North Sea near Hanstholm, riding the newly unveiled CORE XR Pro 7m kite.
The excitement began when Emanuel’s CORE teammate, Maerten Haeger from the Netherlands, set a world record at the same beach with a jump of 35.7 meters. Not to be outdone, Joshua responded with multiple jumps over 36 meters, setting the new standard for the sport! Both athletes were utilizing the cutting-edge 7m CORE XR Pro kites and recorded their achievements with the WOO 3.0 system.
Not to be forgotten, Stijn Koster also put on an impressive display, achieving 35.8 meters on an Eleveight RS 3 strut classic Dacron kite. The day was truly a showcase of the sport’s ever-advancing boundaries and the relentless pursuit of excellence by these remarkable athletes. The powerful summer storm, had winds reaching peaks reportedly around 60 knots!
