2024 Naish preview with Ewan Jaspan

Ewan Jaspan, a top professional kiteboarder and Naish kite designer discusses the 2024 Naish Kitesurfing lineup with John Bryja, the publisher of Kitesurfing Magazine. In the interview, they covered various aspects of Naish’s new products, including kites, foil boards, and twin-tip boards.

New Pivot Kite: Naish introduced the new Pivot kite, which comes in various sizes and colors. The focus for this year was on enhancing control across all sizes of the kite, providing more comfort and control to riders of different skill levels. To achieve this, they adjusted draft positioning depth and aspect ratios for each size to optimize the kite’s performance in various conditions. They also introduced a new Swift design to reduce weight and improve responsiveness, making the kite more versatile and easier to handle.

Boxer Kite: The Boxer kite, known for its excellent foil performance, received updates as well. They adjusted panel counts for different sizes, optimizing stiffness and control for each size. This ensures that the Boxer remains a versatile kite, suitable for various styles of riding.

Foil Boards: Naish introduced two new foil boards, the Micro Chip and Macro Chip. The Micro Chip is a smaller pocket foil board at 80 centimeters in length, while the Macro Chip is slightly larger at 100 centimeters, with foot strap inserts, offering more versatility. Both boards feature a lightweight full carbon layup, providing stiffness and control for foil riding. Additionally, they have a new hover kite foil board lineup, ranging from 97 to 140 centimeters, designed for riders at different skill levels.

Twin-Tip Boards: Naish’s twin-tip board lineup includes several models:

  1. Hero: This board received an upgrade with a Keel Lock Spine, improving water dispersion and making it a smoother ride through choppy waters.
  2. Motion: The Motion board also received the Keel Lock Spine, enhancing its all-around performance and comfort.
  3. Drive: The Drive is a high-end carbon board designed for big air riding. It features a responsive design, ideal for advanced riders performing tricks.
  4. Traverse: The Traverse is Ewan Jaspan’s pro model. It offers a unique rocker profile with a continuous rocker and a bit more rocker in the tips, providing a playful, free-ride experience. It’s available in two constructions, standard and a stiffer grind base version with custom fins.

Naish also offers a two-year breakage warranty on all twin-tip boards, showcasing their confidence in the durability of their products.

In addition to the equipment, Naish has redesigned its surfboard lineup, with thinner and sharper rails for improved performance and control, making them more suitable for kiteboarding’s high-speed and windy conditions.
