The GKA held its annual general meeting in Fehmarn, Germany on the 29th August. During the meeting the new GKA board was also elected for the upcoming two years.

AIMS AND VISION:
The vision of the GKA will remain as the association continues to work consistently towards achieving three main goals:
01: Working to solve controversy in competitive kitesurfing, through a unified approach to supporting and promoting the interests of all (professional) kite riders.
02: All the GKA member brands are particularly focused on supporting ways to maintain free access for all kitesurfers on beaches around the world in harmony with nature. The GKA opposes the prohibition of kitesurfing and aims to work with governments to improve their incorrect perception of the nature of the sport and to help educate them more accurately as to the truly low impact that kitesurfing has on the environment.
03: To continue to work together with all brands to jointly improve the safety of kitesurfing.
