Review: FCS KeyLock – The Unsung Hero for Kitesurfers’ Peace of Mind

⭐⭐⭐⭐½

Where there are waves and wind, there’s exhilaration. But, unfortunately, sometimes there are also some unsavory folks lurking around our favorite kitesurfing launches. Enter the FCS KeyLock – a game changer for those who love the thrill of the waves but not the anxiety of wondering whether their car keys are safe onshore.

Why I’m All About the FCS KeyLock:

Size Matters: Our previous key safe was like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole – especially with those bulky key fobs. But this medium-sized FCS KeyLock? It’s like a spacious studio apartment for your keys. And if this feels spacious, I can’t wait to check out the penthouse vibes of the new large one!

Robust & Gentle: Hardened steel shackle? Check. Soft plastic coating? Double-check. This thing is like a knight in shining armor, tough on the outside, soft on the inside (especially against your car).

Say Bye to Scratches: The foam-backed body ensures your car remains as pristine as your peace of mind. And oh, the proximity key blocker? A little bonus that makes a world of difference.

A Fort Knox for Your Keys: With 10,000 possible combinations, even the most persistent of shady characters would get bored before cracking this code.

Words of Wisdom:
For those with keyless entries, do a double-check. Make sure your vehicle is truly locked before you ride the winds. The additional tips on placing the KeyLock as far from the doors as possible, and potentially using a signal block bag, are gold. We needed to hang the keys on our trailer hitch on the Tacoma to keep from activating the Toyota keyless entry. A shiny silver bag was provided but we couldn’t fit a key loaded bag into the medium key lock. And remember, a little maintenance goes a long way to ensure your KeyLock stays in prime condition.

Kitesurfing is all about freedom and thrill. The FCS KeyLock ensures that the only waves you’re thinking about are the ones you’re riding, not waves of anxiety over your keys’ safety. So gear up, lock up, and surf up, knowing your keys are safely tucked away. Just remember to remember your combination! 😉🌊🔐
