Foil boards now approved for Formula racing!

Great news for foil racers. Formula Kite Class rules have been updated to allow foil boards! Does this mean our old formula boards are now obsolete? Here is the press release from the International Kiteboarding Association.

Following the decisions at the recent IKA AGM in Rome, World Sailing has now published the updated class rules for Formula Kite, allowing registered production hydrofoils to be used with immediate effect.

This class rule change applies to the upcoming European Championships in Cagliari, Italy, the World Championships in Weifang, China, as well as for all Sailing World Cups including the Sailing World Cup Final.

The updated class rules can be found here: http://internationalkiteboarding.org/index.php/course-racing/rules/class-rules-rules-regulating-the-equipment/formula-kite-class-rules

Updated information about registered equipment will be published shortly.

The International Kiteboarding Association is an international class of the International Sailing Federation.
