Following seven years of delays, the long awaited Kelly Slater Wave Company (KSWC) Wave Pool in partnership with REAL Watersports is breaking ground this spring. The timing of the project is perfect, with local bridge construction resources being transitioned to wave pool construction. The 200 strong construction team has an ambitious plan of completing construction of the wave pool by the summer of 2023. A new cable park is rumoured to be part of the new 10 acre complex located in Waves, NC. The ground breaking celebration is scheduled for April 26’ish at the Watermen’s Bar and Grill. It’s rumoured that Kelly Slater himself will be in attendance, breaking first ground with a custom built red coloured Wheelhouse shovel.
